Do Unto Yourself!

Wow, I have commited the ultimate sin and that is working too hard on other people’s blogs and neglecting my own!  My apologies…

Lots going on these past few weeks and to say that I was a bit overwhelmed may be an understatement.  Which leads me to the topic of today and that is:

Do Unto Yourself!

Certainly, there are moments when you have to pay the bills and work on everybody else’s stuff and not your own, but it does inevitably always get to a point when that little resentment bug creeps in and you start to feel sorry for yourself and then the snickety comments (if even to yourself) kick in and then you start to find yourself in a bad mood waaay too often and pretty soon you have to catch yourself and say “Hey, what happened to my little ‘living happily ever after’ life that I had goin’ on?”

Gone. Kaput. Who’s fault is it?

Certainly, not your client’s, right?  Unless you are allowing yourself to be contracted by rude, demanding, “not fun to work with” clients and then you may deserve your prevailing grumpiness because you shouldn’t have accepted clients like that into your world in the first place.

So.  What to do?  Fire them and get on with your life.  It’s really that simple.  No amount of money is worth pulling you out of your happy life, now is it?

I did just that today and boy, do I feel great!  What a load off my back, I actually feel lighter, no kidding (lol).

Client Suckage

How many clients do you have on the books that don’t make you laugh every time you speak with them?

How many clients have hired you and have never asked you anything AT ALL about YOU or your life?  Don’t you think that’s weird?  What, do they think that we are robots that don’t have lives outside of “working FOR” them?  Ugh!

Write down all of your clients right now (just do it, I’ll wait) and start taking notes on how much fun you have with each of them and exactly what projects that you’ve already planned on doing together in the future.  This is important.

People are just too busy today and if there is no “rope” (translate: personal relationship) holding you both together, then you will slip apart… it’s a psychological certainty.

We are all looking for that “chemistry rush” with someone.  That moment when our synchronistic paths cross in exactly the right moment that shows itself obviously as a situation that would benefit you both right there and right then.  If you wait hours, days, weeks later to try to connect and ride that wave together again in the future after this magic moment has passed, it will be nearly impossible.

So, do unto yourself and rid yourself of all of the garbage.  Start fresh today!  Today!

You will move ahead so much faster without all that extra baggage and who knows what doors will now open to allow in new air to fill those empty (and waiting) spaces…

Have at it!
